Sree Kumar, a 2008 BITS Pilani alumnus, has transitioned from marine engineering to human rights activism, carving a distinct path as a senior research fellow at the Centre for Women Studies (CWS), JNU. His doctoral thesis, Manifestations of Masculinity among School Adolescents: A Case Study of Mewat and Gurugram districts of Haryana, explores gender dynamics in education and has been presented at diverse academic and advocacy platforms.
A participant in the Swedish Institute’s Leader Lab 2020 and former chairperson of the Swedish Alumni Network Institute (Delhi board) in 2022, Kumar is a passionate advocate for gender equity. He has led gender sensitization initiatives in Delhi NCR schools and founded FemiNest Fridays, a feminist reading club at JNU, fostering critical discussions and advocacy.
Currently, Kumar spearheads research and impact evaluation for Principal Leadership Development Programs in collaboration with SCERT for Delhi’s government schools. His work integrates research and advocacy to drive transformative leadership in education.
